Cats and apartments and apartments (in a non cat-related way)
So I got Kevin's cat until Tuesday - he's gone home for a holiday, and needed someone to look afer him. KG I think. He calls him Bubba though, and Bubba seems to respond to that. So Bubba is a gorgeous pavement special - mostly white, with big brown patches all over. Short hair, which is fantastic for all your furniture-coating needs. Loud voice, for waking you up at odd hours of the night.
So from what I heard from Kevin, Bubba barely ever goes outside his apartment, and is not the most social of cats... As you can imagine, he was a little upset to be removed from his normal kingdom, and left in a strangers apartment without his daddy... He spent most of Thursday night meowing the time away, much to the entertainment of my sleep patters. Let's just say Friday's work day was a long day. :P By Friday night though, he was obviously settled enough, as he snuggled in bed with me on and off throughout the night, and I managed to get some decent sleep.
Today he's been happily chatting to me most of the time (meow meow, meow meooow meooooooow, etc) while I potter around the apartment. Although every time I get visitors, he hides in my bathroom. :)
So I now have a rather catty apartment, but oddly my allergies aren't going too insane, so I may still survive the invasion after all.
Apartment part 2: I collected a magazine from a real estate agency in Sannomiya, as Kyle and I are thinking of getting an apartment there together. So yes... the magazine is divided into section based on area, which I can follow fine enough (I know most of the Kobe area kanji). Now the problem is, I can read the prices, and can make out the small maps of the apartments, but I can't tell what the hidden options are! Some of the places seem jus too good to be true, so I'm assuming automatically that they are. But I'd love to know what the problem with them is! Haha. Maybe I'll get some help with the Japanese later... Kyle! :D
And otherwise, today was a normal relaxed weekend day. Played games, had a nice long nap, chatted with some friends... that's about it. Now I'm going to go see what has the cat staring outside... Must be something riveting...

Today Minus 23 January 2009 = ?
So it has been a very very long time since I posted anything here... and there's no chance I'm going to catch up on everything (I'd be typing for a month straight at least). Instead, I'm going to write about some hilights of the last year and a bit, and hope you enjoy reading them (all 2 of my readers). :)
How about I start with a note on today, and we can take it bit by bit from there.
Today was a very lazy day. I got up and dressed just after 13:00, and sat on my computer for an inordinate amount of time. Managed to drag myself to the grocery store (Daiei - and notice how I say store... damn American influences). And ate a lot of Daims (went to Ikea yesterday - will get to that story later).
And now I'm realising it's late and I need to shower and get ready for bed. Work in the morning. Ugh. Mondays = Ugh.
So that's it for now. Hope I didn't get you TOO excited when you saw there was a new post. But there will be more I hope. :)
